Updated July 22, 2019: The Administration’s budget request for fiscal year 2020—which begins Oct. 1, 2019—proposed an 11% cut to Energy Department funding and significant reductions or elimination of a number of clean energy programs, such as Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E),  ENERGY STAR, the CHP Partnership Program, and CHP Technical Assistance Program (CHP TAP).

A letter signed by 59 CEBN members was sent to House and Senate leaders and also comprised outside testimony submitted to the House Appropriations Committee on April 12, 2019.

On June 19, 2019, the House passed a package of funding bills that included the Energy and Water title. The Senate has yet to pass its own version of a bill. See Congress.gov for the latest on the FY 2020 Appropriations process.
