The Department of Energy is soliciting applications for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program, which provides non-dilutive funding to help small businesses and researchers develop and commercialize cutting-edge technologies. A brief Letter of Intent is due January 3, 2024, and the full application is due February 21, 2024.

DOE SBIR/STTR Training Series: Preparing the Letter of Intent

The University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) and Clean Energy Business Network (CEBN) invite first time and relatively new applicants to join us for a series of events to help you prepare your Letter of Intent for the Department of Energy’s Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer funding opportunity. Participants may register for any or all events.

• Learn—Dec. 19, 2023 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm ET: In this training, UACI will review the current Department of Energy Phase 1 SBIR/STTR Funding Opportunity Announcement and how to prepare a Letter of Intent. Register here.
• Practice—Dec. 20, 2023 from 3:00-4:30 pm ET: The following day, CEBN will help you put this knowledge into practice with a hands-on workshop giving you suggested prompts to get started on drafting your LOI, and walking you through the online registration process in PAMS. You will leave this event with your draft application materials in hand, providing ample time for edits and troubleshooting ahead of the submission deadline (Jan. 3, 2024). Register here.
• Get Help—Dec. 22, 2023 and Jan. 2, 2024 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm ET: In these open office hours sessions, the UACI team will be available to answer questions related to preparing your Letter of Intent. Registration forthcoming.
