Ocean Renewable Power Company (Portland, ME): In Maine, a Tidal Energy First

Boston Globe | July 25th, 2012 — Five years ago, ORPC celebrated deployment of the first tidal energy project in the U.S. to send energy to a utility grid, located in Maine. Since then, the company has installed two successful river power projects in Alaska’s Kvichak River and partnered with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory on a tidal power measurement project and an upcoming wave energy measurement project.
