Facility and Residential Project Grants – Tribal Solar Acceleration Fund

Tribes are eligible to apply for up to $200,000 to support facility and residential projects. Tribal Facility Solar Project Funding can include rooftop, carport or ground-mount solar installations that meet the energy needs of the tribal community and Tribal Residential Solar Project Funding is designated for solar energy installed on a single-family home or small multi-family complex to significantly reduce the financial burden spent on electricity costs.

Black Girl Ventures

Majira Project

The Majira Project Accelerator Program is now accepting applications for its 2022-23 7th Cohort. Accepted small businesses led by or serving Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities receive a pro-bono, company-specific consulting engagement with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a business coach, and connections to an extensive network of mentors, funders, and other resources to accelerate growth. SolSmart

With over 450 designees nationwide, SolSmart helps local governments and regional organizations bring new business to their community, promote economic growth, and foster the creation of new jobs. As a program funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office, our goal is to make it faster, easier, and more affordable to go solar.

To help communities achieve designation, SolSmart provides no-cost technical assistance from a team of national experts who work to evaluate programs and practices that impact solar markets, and identify high-prospect opportunities for improvement. A select number of communities also hosted SolSmart Advisors: fully-funded, experienced staff who work in communities for periods of up to six months.

CenterPoint Energy All-Source RFP (Indiana)

CenterPoint Energy Indiana South is seeking a combination of resources including renewables (wind, solar and battery storage), thermal and demand-side resources, and short-term capacity to meet the current and future needs of its 150,000 electric customers in southwestern Indiana. Information on CenterPoint’s Integrated Resource Plan can be found at https://midwest.centerpointenergy.com/irp.

Generation resources must provide fully accredited capacity no later than 3/1/2027 and may include:

  • Renewables, both wind and solar along with battery storage in paired and standalone applications.
  • Thermal, including coal and natural gas-fired generation, hydrogen, nuclear and other resources.
  • Demand-side and load-modifying resources, whether standalone or aggregated, capable of providing accredited capacity
  • Short term capacity, especially in years 2023-2025

Eligible transaction structures include PPAs, asset purchases including projects in development, demand side contracts and capacity only contracts.

Battery Materials Processing and Battery Manufacturing

Projects awarded under this FOA will be funded, in whole or in part, with funds appropriated by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The activities to be funded under this FOA support BIL Sections 40207 (b) & (c) and the broader government-wide approach to upgrading and modernizing infrastructure, including by strengthening critical domestic manufacturing and supply chains to maximize the benefits of the clean energy transition as the nation works to curb the climate crisis and advance environmental justice. This FOA provides approximately $3.1 billion to successful applicants to fund investments within the electric vehicle battery supply chain, increase domestic battery manufacturing, and create good-paying clean energy jobs. The overall scope in this FOA includes demonstration and commercial facilities for battery grade precursor materials, battery components, and cell manufacturing and recycling. Letters of Intent are due May 27.
