The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Low Carbon Pathways for Multifamily Buildings program offers financial support to New York State Multifamily building owners & property managers to install low carbon energy efficiency upgrades.

Through the program, affordable and market-rate multifamily building owners/property managers can take a step-by-step approach towards achieving whole-building deep carbon reductions and electrification by implementing packages of low carbon upgrades that can more easily leverage existing capital improvement milestones (e.g. equipment end of life, local law compliance, etc.) to reduce the incremental cost of improvements.  In addition to energy and utility bill savings, these low carbon measure packages may lead to reduced operation and maintenance costs, extended equipment life, and increased occupant comfort.

The New York State Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking proposals for technical training, experiential learning, job placement, and supportive services that enable New York State to meet the requirements of a clean energy economy and advance the climate equity and just transition goals of New York’s Climate Act. The purpose of this solicitation is to build or expand New York State training infrastructure and capacity to strengthen the pipeline of skilled talent for the Energy Efficiency and Clean Technology labor market. Projects funded through this solicitation are intended to develop and/or deliver technical training, relevant education, and hands-on experience to ensure that both new and existing workers, apprentices, journeypersons, and students, as applicable, have the skills, experience, and qualifications required to meet industry demand.

Charge Ready NY 2.0 is an incentive program that provides $4,000 per charging port installed at a public facility within a DAC and $2,000 per charging port installed at a workplace or MUD location upon completion of the installation of charging equipment and the provision of appropriate documentation. An additional incentive of $500 per port may be awarded for eligible Level 2 charging equipment installed at a workplace or MUD location within a DAC. Equipment Owners at workplace or MUD locations may choose to participate in a bonus program to receive additional incentives. Public and private (for-profit and not-for-profit) entities may participate in the Program. Applicants can be the Equipment Owners or the Installers on behalf of the Equipment Owners.

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), invites financial companies actively working (or developing plans) to deploy capital into decarbonization projects in New York State (NYS) to submit proposals for a direct investment in the form of subordinate debt and/or a loan loss reserve support from the NYSERDA SEFI decarbonization fund. Under the SEFI decarbonization fund, NYSERDA expects to deploy up to $20MM of concessionary capital starting on 9/11/2023, until fully allocated by making investments to eligible Applicants, funded at the lesser of $5MM or 3% of an Eligible Applicant’s proposed project portfolio amount.

Through this funding opportunity, and in working with labor organizations and registered pre-apprenticeship programs across the State, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) seeks to grow a diverse, equitable, and inclusive pipeline of skilled talent for the clean energy labor market. Projects funded through this solicitation are intended to create and/or expand the capacity of Direct Entry Pre-apprenticeship and Registered Apprenticeship programs as a pathway to high-quality, family supporting jobs. Eligible initiatives must include clean energy technical training in target areas (developing new or expanding existing clean energy training capacity) and hands-on experience for pre-apprentices, apprentices, and/or journey workers, ensuring they have the skills and qualifications required to meet the demands of a clean energy economy.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is being issued by the U.S. Department of Energy’s State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP) on behalf of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). This FOA seeks applications to expand the impact of DOE’s existing residential weatherization programs by utilizing leveraged resources and enhanced community partnerships to perform deep energy retrofits of low-income residential buildings and empower local community representation within the energy workforce. DOE seeks proposals that drive innovative approaches to program coordination and service delivery, while fostering the collaboration of dynamic and diverse teams. Applicants can apply for one of the following three topic areas:

1. Multifamily Housing
2. Single Family and Manufactured Housing
3. Workforce Development

With a focus on two-year Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs), the Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program supports the education of technicians for the high-technology fields that drive our nation’s economy. The program involves partnerships between academic institutions (grades 7-12, IHEs), industry, and economic development agencies to promote improvement in the education of science and engineering technicians. It is strongly recommended that projects be faculty-led and required that courses and programs are credit-bearing, although materials developed may also be used for incumbent worker education. Materials may also be adapted and implemented as credit-bearing courses. The ATE program supports curriculum development; professional development of college faculty and secondary school teachers; career pathway development for both students and incumbent workers; and other activities including applied research projects that advance the knowledge base related to technician education.

The RCP Program aims to advance and support reconnection of communities divided by transportation infrastructure – with a priority on helping disadvantaged communities improve access to daily needs (jobs, schools, healthcare, grocery stores, and recreation). Funds for the fiscal years (FY) 2024, 2025, and 2026 RCP grant program are to be awarded on a competitive basis to support planning and capital construction activities that aim to restore community connectivity through the removal, retrofit, mitigation or replacement of highways, roadways, or other infrastructure facilities that create barriers to mobility, access or economic development.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs (Office of Indian Energy) is seeking collaboration with up to four regional nonprofit intertribal organizations as a pilot program to coordinate, collaborate, and partner with the Office of Indian Energy. The purpose of this opportunity (or project) is to help federally recognized Tribes navigate and access DOE clean energy funding and technical assistance opportunities by amplifying DOE messaging and creating effective engagement opportunities for member Tribes. Funding will support communication, internal organizational capacity-building, and engagement activities, with the goal of building long-lasting effective working relationships with Tribal elected leaders and, key staff, and DOE.

Are you a community interested in demonstrating or deploying a long duration energy storage (LDES) technology? This voucher opportunity seeks to provide communities who wish to benefit from the decarbonization, resilience, affordability, and workforce benefits of energy storage and are interested in innovative, first-time long-duration energy storage (LDES) deployments. These communities will receive services such as siting/permitting support, storage project road mapping, regional modeling, energy use analysis, technical feasibility studies, technology solution decision-making, or community engagement. While there are no restrictions on eligible communities, supporting disadvantaged communities (DACs) is an important goal of this opportunity. Providers may include national labs, consulting firms, or nonprofits.

Vouchers will be distributed as in-kind support, meaning that ENERGYWERX will directly reimburse the voucher provider for the work they have completed on behalf of the voucher recipients. The value of each voucher will depend on the services defined in the Providers’ capability statements, with estimated values of support services per recipient ranging from $50k to $150k.
