Fraunhofer TechBridge, Greentown Labs and the Urban Future Lab have partnered to launch an accelerator that is accepting proposals from startup companies interested in advancing hydrogen as a viable energy source in the transportation sector. 2019- GEOTHERMAL DESIGN CHALLENGE

DOE’s Geothermal Technologies Office, Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy and Idaho National Laboratory, are inviting undergraduate & graduate student teams to research, interpret and create a data visualization portfolio to maximize geothermal reservoir performance. The DOE has launched the water security grand challenge to advance transformational technology and innovation to meet the global need for safe, secure, and affordable water. WATER DESALINATION HUB FOR NON-TRADITIONAL WATER SOURCES

The DOE is accepting proposals for the creation of a desalination hub as a low-cost alternative to treat non-traditional water sources for use in municipal and industrial water supplies. The major technical areas of interest include materials research and development, new processes research and development, modelling and simulation tools and integrated data and analysis.

SBIR/STTR PHASE-I RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT

The DOE has expressed interest in research proposals around topics of scientific or technical merit and feasibility of ideas with commercial potential and in line with DOE mission research. The period of performance should not exceed 12 months and only the awardees of Phase-I would proceed to Phase-II. Approximately 40% of phase-I awardees would be awarded phase-II awards.

The 76West Clean Energy Competition is currently accepting applications from clean energy startups from New York State’s Southern Tier region. The major areas of interest include Hardware technologies, software technologies, services, or processes that broadly reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. SBIR/STTR PHASE-II ANNOUNCEMENT

The DOE invites relevant people (Phase 1 & 11 grantees) to apply for phase-II grants aimed at completion of R&D associated with the initial prototype, product, or process development (Phase IIA) and transition of innovative models towards commercialization (Phase IIB). The main areas of interest would include greater emphasis on impact demonstration of the path to commercialization as evidenced in commercialization activities conducted in parallel with or after Phase IIB R&D.

The DOE has instituted a phase-0 program, to assist eligible small businesses to navigate the complexities of the SBIR/STTR proposal process, in association with the Dawnbreaker-led team. Various services provided include LOI writing, Phase I Proposal Preparation, Review and Registration, Market Research, Small Business Development Training, Mentoring and Registrations, Technology Advice and Consultation, Intellectual Property Consultation and Indirect Rates and Financials.
